Bird E. Vines

U.S. Veteran

Bird E. Vines, 84, of Waldron, Arkansas passed away June 25, 2012. He was born January 9, 1928 to Herbert Eugene and Addie Lee (Taylor) Vines.

Bird was a WWII Navy veteran, owner and operator with wife Frances of Midway Park Restaurant and gift shop in Y-City, Arkansas. He was a member of Masonic Lodge, member of the Freewill Baptist Church in Waldron, Arkansas. Fall hunting trips to Colorado were favorite times for Bird and Frances.

Bird is survived by one daughter Nancy Roach of Blanchard, Oklahoma, two sons; Gary Richardson and wife Phyllis of Waldron, Arkansas, Bert Vines and wife Lisa of Bartlesville, Oklahoma, seven grandchildren; Tess Keenum of Blanchard of Oklahoma, Charolett Nunez of Waldron, Arkansas, Barbara Root of Waldron, Arkansas, Michael Richardson of Waldron, Arkansas, Jan Carter of Golden, MS, Jennifer Vines of Bentonville, Arkansas and Angelina Vines of Claremore, Oklahoma, 12 great grandchildren, 7 great-great grandchildren and two sisters Arrie Stroud of Fort Smith, Arkansas and Lillie Yoder of Waldron, Arkansas.

He is preceded id death by his wife Frances of 47 years, daughter Annette Shephard of Waldron, Arkansas, one grandson Jerry Lynn Roach of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, one great grandson Jeremy Lynn, 5 sisters and 2 brothers.

Visitation will be Thursday June 28, 2012 from 5:00 pm to 8:00 pm at the Martin Funeral Home Chapel in Waldron, AR,

Funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Friday June 29, 2012 at Martin Funeral home Chapel with burial in Dooley Cemetery in Boles, Arkansas under the direction of Martin Funeral Home.

Pallbearers will be Michael Richardson, Ty Richardson, Mikey Keenum, Jacob Root, Preston Ison and Leon Windham.

In lieu of flowers you can make a donation to the Dooley Cemetery fund c/o Martin Funeral Home P.O. box 786 Waldron, AR 72958.
